1 Litre Twig Kettle

These ingenious kettles are perfect for brewing up when you’re out in the garden , having a picnic or off on an adventure. It has a whistle which alerts you when the water is boiling. Fuel is nothing more than a few scraps of wood which will bring the water to the boil in a few short minutes, hence the name Twig Kettle. The kettle has an inbuilt funnel shaped chimney and the water is in a separate compartment. To use a Twig Kettle you pour water into the pouring spout up to a couple of inches from overflowing. Then you place a crumpled up piece of newspaper in the base, add some fine twigs or kindling and then put the kettle onto it’s base. Now you position the hole in the base to point into the wind and light the fire. If you are burning dry wood you’ll soon see flames jetting out of the top like a giant Bunsen burner. When the whistle sounds you know the water is boiling so you carefully remove the kettle from it’s base using the handle and the chain (never hold your hand above the chimney while the kettle is lit) and you’re ready for a brew.
