FreshWater Secondary Filter for Nitrate Removal

Increased levels of nitrate in drinking water are primarily linked to agricultural use of nitrates. Fertilisers, pesticides, silo drainage and sewage contamination are all contributors. This means that regions relying on water from heavily farmed areas are most likely to be affected. However, nitrates are highly soluble in water. They can therefore move easily through soil and rock as well as into rivers. Nitrates are removed from drinking water by ion exchange. This filter can be installed in addition to the standard 'Sugarlite' cartridge for those of you with concerns about Nitrates present in your water supply.
